The Interactive Draw Tutorial from Tom Beeley is an extremely comprehensive and highly structured course which allows anyone to learn how to use Draw effectively, no matter how limited their experience or artistic skills.
The tutorial comes on a set of eight 1.6Mb floppy discs or a CD-ROM, and is comprised purely of Draw files containing instructions, exercises and examples, thus maximising the interactive potential of the material. There are nearly one hundred Draw file 'pages' in total, and together they form a structured workbook which is divided into several chapters, covering all of Draw's facilities. In addition, numerous pieces of clip-art are provided, along with a range of colourful printed material to complement the on-screen work (floppy disc version only). The tutorial ranges from introducing the absolute beginner to Draw to covering more advanced topics such as tracing Draw-format artwork from sprite-based originals (see the illustrations to the right). The tutorial covers every aspect of using Draw, and is an ideal way of mastering what Tom Beeley believes to be the best piece of free software provided with any computer.
