KITT Engineering is a company which specialises in providing 'enabling technology' to Artists, Museums etc. Founded as a spin-off from a computer company, it has realised dedicated control systems for:

Our MIMIC® system provides all the tools to implement a real-time interactive installation that is controlled by gestures!

MIMIC® is an acronym for "Motion Interpreted Media Interface Control." The system detects movement and gestures of users inside the interactive area. This area is scanned by one or more video cameras. The images are processed in real-time by an Acorn Risc PC and some dedicated hardware into useful parameters. An interactive application uses these parameters to respond to gestures and actions of the user(s).
