Further information

The first meeting of the user group was held on the 30th September 1984.

In July 1986 the name VICBUG was adopted. In November 1989 it was decided to merge with the BBC in Education Users Group (BEDBUG).

The group mainly consists of Acorn computer enthusiasts, and has a special Acorn Education User Group comprised of well experienced people in primary and secondary school education.

Meetings usually have a short formal session for normal business during which you are given an update from the disc and magazine librarians. This is normally followed by a guest speaker who will give an illustrated presentation on some aspect of Acorn computing. After the presentation we have a problem corner which presents an opportunity to seek help on any problems you might have. The meeting ends with informal discussion and socialising over a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits. The latest hardware and software is usually available for hands-on experience.
