Further information

The North Kent Amateur Computer Club has been around for some twenty years. We have met in various venues in the southeast of London, but now our meetings are firmly established in Petts Wood Memorial Hall on the second Thursday of each month. This is conveniently located near to Station Square and to the Daylight Inn (used for post-meeting chats and also sometimes for a get-together on the second Tuesday in the month by arrangement).

Over the last year or so the club has been re-invigorated with an influx of new members, all of whom have continued the tradition that the Club consists of a bunch of friendly pro-computer people, who enjoy chatting about what makes all kinds of new technology tick. Historically, the Club has gone through Amiga, Acorn, Apple and Wintel phases, with a liberal sprinkling of various pocket/notebook machines along the way.

Currently, members use Acorn, Apple and Wintel machines, running all the major operating systems. We hope that members will bring their machines and their friends to meetings so that we can all learn about them, especially if they are a bit unusual or innovative.

During last year, our meetings included some very successful informal talks on subjects as varied as video editing using both Acorn and Wintel platforms, an introduction to HTML, how to build a PC in 2 hours (with a very fraught demo!), An expert look at Sibelius (thanks, David!), networking, and computer music synthesisers and sequencers.

The Club has its own Web site at http://www.nkacc.roundel.net/, and members are sent a regular email newsletter, detailing recent and future club events, etc.

In order to cover expenses such as the hall, advertising, refreshments etc., we do have an annual subscription charge. The pricing is as below:
