LATE BREAKING USER GROUP NEWS: EAST LONDON AND WEST ESSEX AREA

A RISC OS user group to cover the area around the eastern end of the M25 (based near Romford, but covering both the eastern parts of London and the western parts of Essex) was proposed by Barry Walsh a little while ago. This new user group fills the gap between the RISC OS User Group of London (ROUGOL) and the Essex Acorn User Group (EAUG).

The first meeting of the group took place at Barry's house in Harold Wood on Tuesday, 5th December, by which point Barry had already procured a larger venue for future meetings! Much discussion of RISC OS news and rumours took place, as well as decision-making regarding the future of the group itself.

It was decided that the next meeting of the group would take place on Tuesday 16th January 2001. With many of those present interested in learning to create their own Web pages, Paul C. Robinson of Aleph One and dgs of ROUGOL agreed to present an introduction to this topic at this meeting. Future meetings are planned for the third Tuesday of every month.

The venue will be in Harold Wood near Romford (close to M25 junction 29 as well as the A12, and easily accessible by rail), with doors opening at 7pm and the presentation beginning shortly after 7:30pm (but don't worry about turning up late). The group decided that there would be no membership or admittance fees, but small contributions will be invited. Limited refreshments will be available.
